I realise this is a bit of a long shot, but I'm trying to trace an old climbing friend, John Hampson.
He originates from the Rochdale/Shaw area.
The last time I saw him would have been around 83' when I bumped into him at the Roaches.
Prior to that, the last time we actually climbed together would have been about 80'. I'd just got back from the Alps, and we went to Langdale for the weekend.
If I remember correctly, we climbed on White Ghyll on the Saturday - Haste Knot Direct, Eliminot & Palladin? - and after getting very drunk in the ODG that night, we climbed on Ravens Crag on the Sunday - R&S Special?
If anyone knows him on UKC, I'd be interested to know if he's still alive?
