I'm interested in the history of Circe at Stoney. The 1987 BMC guide says that Geoff Birtles placed a new bolt, presumably in 1977, to protect his own intended ascent though, of course, Tom Proctor did the first free ascent. Is the bolt in the route currently that 1977 bolt? Also, was there an old bolt in the route previously? Was Circe an aid climb before 1977? If so, does anyone know who may have placed an original bolt and aided it(?Bob Dearman)?

Ah, found it...pg. 100 in the 1987 guide...Spring 1963 Circe (A2) R Dearman, G Hawker. Did they place an early golo (for aid)? But is the current bolt the 1977 one?
