Gutted tbh. Just heard. He was always on the edge but I thought he'd overcome his demons.

He did do some poor stuff but I liked "Dead Poets Society" "Good morning Vietnam" and "the Fisher King" among his films.

RIP you crazy, brilliant man.
In reply to Dispater:

Shocking news.

I never was a big fan of his, but he seemed a genuine good person.

RIP Mork

I never found him funny at all but sad to see him go especially if his passing is as reported.

Capitan, My captain.

i was woken this morning to my alarm blasting 'GGGOOOOOOODDD MORNING Vietnam' as Adrian Cronauer always brought a smile to my face, I was saddened when the next line was, Robin Williams is dead.

Tonight's film list so far - Good Morning Vietnam, Aladdin, Dead Poets Society, Mrs Doubtfire and Toys.

I liked Parkinson's interview with Steven Fry on where Steven Fry said there's a planet somewhere full of Robin Williams, a planet full of quirky people. It's a real shame.

Good Will Hunting and Bicentennial Man - two very different but equally excellent films from Mr. Williams.

Yes, sad times. It is desperate that he felt he had no where to turn to, nobody to talk to...

I remember him very well as Mork, then in Dead Poets, Good Morning Vietnam, Good Will Hunting etc. Ironically given his first real role as Mork, in his more serious stuff, he always seemed a very human human and you got the feeling that was the real him. I also didn't realise until quite late on what a great stand-up he was.

He was a really keen cyclist and a regular participant in the Ride of the Roses.

But he took Armstrong's confession to being a drug cheat quite badly. He was evangelical about LA and a big supporter of the LA Foundation. It's reported he felt 'stabbed in the back' when LA confessed as it totally betrayed his trust and friendship.
