Cold sweats?

Hey all, again last night I woke absolutely sodden with sweat. I wasn't hot, the windows were open but i was dripping, from my back, legs, arms and chest. I had to change the sheets.

I get this from time to time. I don't remember being anxious or having a bad dream.

Does anyone else get this and whats the cause?

I get it if I run or gym too late.. I can be absolutely drenched, it's horrible.

A few years back, I too had this a number of times. No common cause, it left me completely baffled (and rather wet). It hasn't happened at all since I stopped working; which doesn't imply a cause and effect relationship, but makes me wonder nevertheless.

Had this myself a few years back, went away as suddenly as it appeared. Probably was some kind of virus. If it carries on though, see your GP, may be a symptom of something else.

can be a number of things, alcohol, steroids (prescription type), infection, eating too late, exercising too late, or just completely random.

I went through a phase for about a week a few months back, horrible thing cold and soaked even the duvet.

Still happens occasionally, but usually for one of the reasons listed already.

Thanks goodness for that. I thought I was weird. Its very unpleasant and even if the room is cool, i can be pouring like a tap.

It's probably some rare and deadly disease . Go and discuss it on a forum with medical specialists before u die.

Yeah mine seems like a phase.. but especially in Germany in the winter I'd often train really late as I'd put off running and then do 12-14 miles at 9 ish.. then grab food then bed.. and it was really bad then.. like you I got a bit worried and the eating and exercising late seemed to be a common factor..

In reply to TheDrunkenBakers:

My Dad and a guy I used to work with have had them. Woken up in the middle of the night, literally drenched and had to change the sheets. They weren't hot etc and the doctors had no explanation.
