Best instant camera?

I'm off to a remote part of the world next year and thought it would be a good icebreaker to be able to present some of the people I meet along the way with pictures of themselves and their families. If anyone has eany relevant experience/knowldge then I'm all ears.

Polaroid certainly has the advantage of convenience. Impossible project are selling film for the cameras but they are about £2 an exposure
