I've got a lot of conflicting information on the length of D route. The Langdale guide that I have says one pitch of 31m. Many people have suggested that it is longer, some say as much as 55m. Are 50m ropes enough to do it in one pitch?

I've checked a couple of Langdale guides and they all say 31m, i've climbed it on 50m - it will be fine (it's 100ft in 1950 langdale guide)

Just make sure you belay at the start of the climbing proper, rather than somewhere lower down on the easy ground at the top of Ash Tree Slabs.
