Does anyone know anything about hold being broken off the crux move on P1 of mousetrap, making it considerably harder? We have picked up info that this is the case...

Isn't the crux on Mousetrap the rickety stairs?

(sorry, but I just couldn't resist)

The crux on pitch 1 is probably the traverse which has good gear before you start it. Its probably a soft 5b move and I can't see it being much harder even if a hold has gone. Nothing on the route is particularly technically hard, it gets E2 for the committing situation, slightly dodgy rock, being a bit run out, etc. All three pitches are fairly similar in grade, the crux pitch will be whichever one you lead!
In reply to john morrissey:

Hard to see how a single hold could make much difference...

Did Mousetrap recently, found no move harder than soft 5b. Cracking adventure.
