Dr John Rae acknowledged at last!

I was delighted to see that Dr John Rae has now been recognised for all of his Arctic exploration achievements. Here is a man whose solo trips in the Canadian Arctic in summer and winter, make modern exploits look rather feeble. I am not sure if it is possible to grant a Knighthood posthumously but this man deserves one.

Grand. Ray Mears did a brilliant documentary on him a few years back and didn't hide his very strong opinions on Rae, nor his much less favourable opinions of Franklin and the establishment of the time.
