Hi all,

If anyone is interested I have created a blog containing an up-to-date guide for the route Snakes and Ladders (and Tunnels) in the old Llanberis Slate Mines.

A great wet weather route if up in North Wales looking for something to do.

Thanks

Have now included a link on the UKC Logbook for the route in my notes.

Seems that the other blog is no longer active though it was working fine last week.

nice one...

I've done it a couple of times, used a 50m rope without issue.

I also ab off the tree on the left for the 2nd ab into the lost world.

BTW from lost world take the LH tunnel (what does 2nd mean ?

See your point. Though there is only one tunnel to go through and the 1st one you get to is blocked off, hence the 2nd tunnel. Changed it to LH tunnel to make life easier

I've had luck girth hitching small slings through the snake as hand/footrests to those who come after you if you're doing it as a group.

Also, tunnel should be done without torches for maximum adventure points.

If there's time/inclination going down into mordor (3 big ladders) and wandering through some of the tunnels down there is good fun as well, plus you can refill water from the mossy-waterfall which the ladders lean against which is probably as clean as natural water can be.
