Has anybody stayed in dulyn bothy then climbed amphitheatre buttress? Just interested in the distance between the bothy and start of the climb
In reply to Pj84:
depending on which wasy you walk it's between 4 and 8 km though there's a bit of height to gain (and then lose) with the shorter route
In reply to higherclimbingwales:
Bothy is around the same altitude as the base of the amphitheatre but in the next valley branch over, so you have to either go :

(1) a long way around (basically via the Eigiau carpark so you could leave gear/supplies there) around 8km with an easy loss and then gain of 100m or else

(2) go up the path to Melynllyn then over the top of the ridge (Gledrffordd) - as short as 3km but a (steeper and pathless) height gain + loss of 250m.

I can highly reccomend Rugby Mountaineering Club's bothy in Cwm Eigiau. Its superb. Furnished with gas, water and a coke stove called Betty.
We had a brilliant time there and its really close to the crag.
