If you were on Commando Ridge at about ten o'clock this morning (whilst we were on Doorpost) in the beautiful Autumn sunshine, then I've an apology to make.
My camera's broken and my mobile doesn't take pictures.
It was a sight to make Simmonite weep with joy, particularly as you went over the top buttress (the one with the plaque on) and the sea-laden air outlined a shaft of golden sun right on top of you. It would have been the photo to end all photos.
If you message me, I can describe it in minute detail.....
Martin
Ps for those who are interested, the end of the traverse on Doorpost is running with water, but it makes no difference to the grade.
