Is it just me, or is this one of the daftest ideas EVER?

I understand that it may currently be undiagnosed etc but surely govt shouldn't introduce rules that are quite so open to abuse, or cut across quite so many ethical and professional boundaries?

Do the GPs need the £55 for additional tests or something?

The sound "ker-ching" springs to mind.

I know quite a few people who are obviously demented. Can I get some cash if I grass them up to a doctor?

I'm torn on this and would probably want to speak to some gps before really forming an opinion. Apparently it already happens for other things.

I don't know where the money comes from firstly. Is it drug companies or government?

I get 'good gps should already be spotting xyz' but if the extra money means they have the time and resources to put extra time and care in then it sounds maybe worthwhile. Maybe the money is needed, maybe its targetting thongs that make the present bosses look good and nothing more

Surely a good time to link in some Kevin Bridges....anything for £40.....wonder how long before you can add a dementia diagnosis to his list...
