Looking at family holiday non climbing for next summer to Sorrento doing the touristy bits. Most of our recent holiday bookings haven't included hotel bookings so I'm awash with options, and I'm getting sorely tempted to walk into a travel agent and do it through them. In this day an age is this a bad idea, or can they get deals as good as you could possibly on the internet.
Any recommendations would be fantastic

Sorrento is the one time I've done a package in Italy. Much more cost effective. Sorrento has ferries, circumvesuviana trains and amalfi drive all handy so you can easily avoid the trips and get about yourself. Try Thomson. I would be tempted to avoid high summer tho. Hot and busy!
