Has anyone built a DIY camera stabilizer as shown by one of the millions of youtube for use with a smaller camera like a gopro?

If so was it any good?

I've watched some of those DIY stabiliser videos too and thought I might try it. Then I found a site which sold a really decent looking one, but subsequently forgot to actually make the purchase. Now I can't find it! I think it was a Dutch company, but their sample video of a guy using one while riding a bike round some city streets looked very impressive. I'll have another hunt as it was selling at a very competitive price, round about £60, I think.

it's a fair question... ithink you loose some of the image size with software stablised and then the computer workflow element.

rendering out a video takes long enough as it is. a new video editing PC £1000 vs a stabliser for £60?

Use both. Even the best software can only work with what you give it, so it makes sense to get the cleanest input you can.
