New lap top with windows 8.1 but cant seem to get my btinternet mail account to open - anyone with a fix?

It wont be Windows then, do you go through your browser i.e. Firefox / Chrome? Or do you use a BTinternet/Outlook programme?

Had this issue with my mums new desktop. I have come to the conclusion that whoever is responsible for windows 8/8.1 should be burned at the stake!

My mate has exactly the same problem with BT. He can send mail but can not receive it. However he is using Windows 7.

Another reason for me never to go back to BT.

There are no problems with compatibility but there have been problems with intercontinental cables being damaged recently. Added to this I believe that BT are currently transferring email accounts from Yahoo to their own servers.
