A field spaniel who was on holiday in Sheffield disappeared whilst being walked by a dog walking service, he's been gone since the 27th of Nov, and has been spotted (conflicting info) across a wide area. One of the recent sightings was made by a Peak district ranger at White edge (above froggat), near the lodge. The ranger said the dog matched the description and looked emaciated. Any of you who frequent the peak will understand that in reality, he could be any where across the eastern peak now, so could you keep an eye out for a brown field spaniel who looks tired, scared and probably much thinner. Keeping an eye out means catch him though! There are more details and pictures here....

If you could spread the news via social media that would be great. To be honest a dog that has never fended for itself is unlikely to last that much longer if he is out in the peak. Food sources are likely to be few and far between, so please keep your eyes peeled. I'm heading out this morning with a thermal imager because the dogs the same colour at the dying bracken!

If he is in the peak, there can't be a better geographically networked group of people than UKC users

Cheers,

George

In reply to g taylor:

Sorry to hear about this. There is at least one organisation which helps to reunite lost dogs with their owners, see http://www.doglost.co.uk/. There are probably others. I hope you find him soon. Good luck, Rob.
