Thinking of heading up to Ben Nevis Boxing Day and wondered if anyone knew of conditions.

It's an educated guess as ever. Doesn't look like a bad call at this stage but depends how much snow falls before then etc and whether a possible front at the end of the week comes in early.

Quite a bit of ice about, plenty of lower grade routes will be in from tomo i suspect with the freezing level dropping, ridges looking black with minimal snow, buttress black. The hot rain has had a fairly impressive impact on the snow cover in general. 4 days is a long time though.....

Conditions were pretty good in Coire na Ciste on Saturday. It will have been stripped back since them but I'd expect something to be climbable by boxing day.

Ben nevis has been pretty resilient to the thaw on Sunday. Smiths and Indicator direct got climbed today.

We were on Green Gulley on the Ben today, it's in brilliant nick all the way.
