Cairngorm conditions update...
Coire an t-Sneachda (Aladdin's, Fluted & Mess) and Coire an Lochain were looking very black today despite the freezing conditions and snow showers. Only the easy gullies were climbable.
Fiacaill Buttress however was fully rimed and in great condition - good neve, frozen turf and rimed rock. Everyone out today flocked to Fiacaill and got some good product. Very sociable!
Routes climbed - Belhaven (us and another team), Invernookie, The Seam, Fiacaill Buttress, Fiacaill Couloir. The Stirling Bomber and Houdini appeared to be in good nick as well.
Scottish winter conditions are a big mystery to some climbers and today was a typical example of everything looking like an absolute disaster on the walk in but Fiacaill Buttress saved the day!
