One of us in living in the south west (but at the top of it so almost midlands) and one of us lives in essex (thank you for your climbing condolences).
We had a plan to head to the Peak, meet up and eith boulder, solo or trad climb. We have had some advice that nothing will be climable in the Peak this weekend, so are thinking about maybe Portland. What would you do and why.
ps happy to ead somewhere beautiful with a maybe chance at climbing if the alternative when getting there is lovely walking.

If you want walking, either Swanage or Cheddar.
Also, plenty of caves down Cheddar way if you fancy trying that!
Go to Swanage instead of Portland?
Also probably quicker to get to Chepstow than Swanage from Essex; Wintours Leap is a fast drying year round cliff...
