I don't know if this has been posted on UKClimbing before now, but it is with great sadness that I report the death of Carol Nash.

Carol was a Kiwi rock climber and alpinist, resident in France for the past 20 years, and was married to Scots hardman Murray Hamilton (although they had seperated/divorced some years back). She lived in the UK for about 5 years in the early 90s.

Carol died in an avalanche in the Queyras (above Guillestre, near Briancon) on Saturday, 24th January, along with 5 local members of CAF. Her funeral is on Wednesday 4th in Gap.

Carol was not only a very good climber, but an exceptional person as well. She will be greatly missed by her family, the NZ climbing community, Brits who knew her, as well as the local French community in 05 (Dept de Haute-Alpes)

In reply to zen50:

Well it was, in the skiing forum. However I'm sure they'll be a lot of folk who won't have seen it there.
In reply to jon:

Thanks - I didn't think of that. In fact I didn't even realise there was a skiing forum.
