Hello,

Was wondering which guide book people find best for Harrisons - BMC or Jingo Wobbly? Also is the campsite open all year?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi
Guide book wise currently there is no middle ground. The CC guide is presented in the traditional climbers’ club layout with detailed route descriptions, maps and a number of topos to assist with route locations. This guide also contains in-depth information on all known outcrops on sandstone as well as an in-depth historical section.
The Jingo guide is a unique topographical guide to sandstone. With less emphasis on description and more on the topo. Each page has the routes listed in order of difficulty and so offers a progression of grades for the users to follow. This guide presents nine outcrops and is favored by those looking for a more in-depth topographical layout to the area.
Or
Southern Sandstone Bouldering – (2011). A comprehensive guidebook to bouldering on Southern Sandstone. This landscape orientated guide includes all the bouldering across Southern Sandstone. The guide covers all the major crags in the area and presents an easy to use layout. Listing hundreds of problems from grade Font 1 through to 8B as well as including 100 action shots to drive your motivation.

Camping at Harrison's
The toilet block and campsite are now closed for a program of work funded by Sport England as part of the end of lease agreement. This will also include improvements to the car park.
The Forestry Commission aim to re-open the toilet block and campsite in spring 2015 when it is proposed more regulated charging begins for the campsite and car park.

Hope this helps.
Cheers

I take both to the crag, as the JW guide doesn't seem to be completely comprehensive but you can actually find all the climbs, and the other guide has good descriptions of where to go etc.

I bought the SS bouldering guide the other day and it's really really REALLY nicely done. Hats off to the guys that done it

If you take the JW guide check the grades against the UKC consensus before you go, the JW grades can be very wobbly!
