Debating whether to build a home wall, however I have limited space and height specifically. I've got a nice garage but due to having cross beams the height is relatively low i.e approx. <2m.
Thought about converting the loft but it would be too big a cost factoring in supporting the floor so I don't crack / come through the ceiling!
Ideally want to create something I can boulder and dry tool on, but would just like to see other people's creations for inspiration
Give me an email an I will send you a picture of my wall. I had to build mine with kids an maybe a wee bit of a challenge for myself. The website I bought everything I needed had all the kit for wood or concrete an relatively cheap for the amount of wall iv covered
2m height will mean less with ply and holds on for ceiling: rule out drytooling as it'll not be worth it. It can make a superb bouldering venue though. Fitness on the wall should/will transfer well on the axes (it does for me anyways).
I'll upload more recent pics of my wall on my profile.
Go for it, you'll love it...but make it clear to the rest of the family that it is NOT ok to park bikes and buggies in it. Once it gets cluttered, you'll stop using it.
Now that's a home wall! Could build something similar in the loft but it means cutting ply down to fit through the hatch, then there's the floor problem!
This week's Friday Night Video whisks us back to Val-David, Quebec, in the Autumn of 1958. Two daring young climbers embark on the ascent of a route that seemed unattainable, resembling a roof suspended in the air, defying all the conventions of the time....
