Quite a few recent ascents of Gemini (Ben Nevis) - to those that have done it - can it be done ok with 50m ropes or is it best (or essential) to use 60?

50m is fine. Some people run first 2 pitches together. We didn't, and I don't think you could with 50's but otherwise ok.
