My trusty Astra van is 05 and almost 140k now. Its on its third cambelt and spark plugs set.
It runs really well but I know I may have to scrap it if something expensive goes kaput.
You are buying both a caravan and a vehicle, don't let the caravan bit cloud your judgement on the vehicle bit.
Perhaps get an AA/RAC type check before you buy.
