I have spotted a rare weekend when I have the weekend to myself in June and so have quickly booked up the above on one of the days. I could have drunk wine and watched TV all weekend but its not really me.

So.. so I wondered if anybody here's done it and if its a proper good day? It looks like it is.

Also on the other day I was wondering what else I should fill it with, Penmachno is close as is the Marin trail so I was thinking biking but wondered if there was anything more climbing orientated worth doing? Yep, I'm a southerner, usually boulder, not much ropes experience but looking for inspiration for the Saturday.

Any ideas? Maybe a climbing course day? Time I refreshed my ropes skills. Other ideas?

plenty of ideas in here

Also if you do take the bike I would recommend going up Snowdon. At that time of year there is a ban between 10am and 5pm. If you go in the morning some walkers will be coming up as you go down, but a least you can see each other.

Lots of good biking around if that's your thing.

Equally loads of good instructors around who could either teach you new skills or guide you on some awesome routes. If the weather was good and you were capable of following VS, I'd aim to take you to Castel Helen, an awesome multi pitch sea cliff at Gogarth.

Its been a while since I did snowden on my bike, did it as an evening summer solstice ride a few years back. Nice idea but I want to do something more climbing.

jezb - that looks cool. I boulder on plastic to Font 7a when it suits my style. That does look very interesting. Maybe a bit 'in the deep end' considering the lack of experience on ropes outside?

Bouldering wise these are the only two I have been to
RAC Boulders
Cromlech boulders
and I recommend them both.
If you want to bring the rope then it's probably worth having worth having a look at the slate quarries

there is loads of sport so rope work isn't as important .
