I'm looking for a gift for a climber/ mountaineer. Something that's not clothing or gear, not books, not maps. Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks

John Muir Trust/ MCoS subscription. Or membership of the local Mountain Rescue Team supporters group. Or a donation to the Footpath Fund in Scotland.

Or maybe just a big sack of Kendal Mint Cake or a contribution towards a place on a Bear Grylls Survival Academy course.

Custom wallpaper? http://www.customwalldesigns.co.uk - Could be a favourite photos of theirs, or a stock one, or even (I know you said not maps!) a Harvey maps wallpaper http://www.customwalldesigns.co.uk/harvey-maps-wallpapers/ .

Maybe have a look at these laser cut coasters of hills/mountains that a friend of mine makes:

They are based on maps, but maybe different enough to be a good gift?

Lovely.

I love the Blencathra suggestion! It's out of my budget unfortunately.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the coasters, will definitely look in to that. It's for someone who has everything and quite fussy about design. I think they would like them.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks
