I'm off to Orco valley in Italy next week. Question for those who have been. Gloves or tape or nothing for the cracks?

For granit cracks, Ocun gloves are the best (e.g.. bergfreunde has 'em). If you're not used to climbing granite cracks that is.

If you're used to the stuff, but haven't done it in a while, tape works well. Tape is also better on some odd-sized cracks than cheater gloves.

Go bare hands, if your leather is strong and you have masochistic tendencies.

You can always make your hands wider, through how you position/stack them, but you cannnot make them narrower. So adding width using gloves is a rash idea IMHO - tape allows you better flexibility in narrow cracks, and you can still feel the rock, but with less of the distracting pain and blood that will result from going tapeless.

Enjoy your trip! Its a wonderful place.
