Looking at the IFSC Climbing Worldcup results for Munich and have no idea how to interpret what the results mean - things like 3t3 4b4 (result for first in qualification) and 0t 1b5 (for one of the last).

http://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition#!comp=1584&cat...

Anyone able to advise or point me to a link that explains the ins and outs (tried browsing the web-site - but it seems a little shit tbh (at least when viewed on my phone)).

Cheers,
WC

In reply to Willi Crater:

t is top, b is bonus
number before letter is successes, number after letter is tries to success
so 3t4 means 3 top-outs in 4 tries total, i.e. 3 flashes and 1 got second go.

ranking is done on no. tops, no. top tries, no. bonuses, no. bonus tries, in that order

In reply to Willi Crater:

xty => x tops in y attempts
xby => x bonus holds in y attempts

Ranking is then defined by number of tops, top-attempts, bonuses and bonus-attempts (in this order).
It can be a bit confusing from time to time

Hope this helps.

Thanks John - now you explain it, it's obvious. Ha ha. Not!

It does, thanks for replying (and to John above) - not entirely obvious if you're not already familiar with the system though, so you'd think they'd maybe have a link explaining the ranking system. Maybe they do and I'm too thick to see it.

Cheers anyway - at least I know understand how my mate did now.
