True, and it does look like Alex is in the Alps of something at the moment. I was sure he had a brother called James and jumped to conclusions.

Although sleeping on Ben Nevis for a week doesn't really sound out there enough for Alex, if he were doing something for charity I'd expect it to be somewhere more remote and, as someone said above, he'd be doing it in vintage gear.

And Hannah S would have brought the whole thing to our attention through this forum.
