Anyone seen this

It sounds like money for nothing. Every 10000 steps you get a digital "thing" that can be spent on real goods or cash? Could someone tell where the value in walking lies to those not doing the actual walking?

Ok. Don't know anything about the company involved but if I was being cynical I would suggest that if you could install an app with a secret algorithm which tracks everywhere someone walks in a day, on a lot of smart phones, you'd be sat on a database worth a LOT of money. Just like supermarket loyality cards are a way of targetting promotions. Or even facebook is just a means of spying on the gullable.

It's just simple advertising surely. Plenty of apps give you something for free but show ads. How is this different, what you get is some tiny cash but they'll get the money from the advertising.
