Umm - given your OP and this response to previous suggestion, are you *sure* you should be messing around with your "phone tablet's" DNS settings?

I don't think you are, but the method of pressing on the currently connected WIFi for a couple of seconds, then selecting advanced ( as previously described) works for my android tablet. If that doesn't work then maybe resort to the wonders of Google for your specific device?

It doesn't give me advanced option settings on this android phone when I follow your instructions. Have tried Google already, no progress there

You can only modify the settings when you're not connected to the network, I think.
