Reigning lead world champion Jain Kim of Korea is known to many as one of the best competition climbers ever to grace the international circuit. Her style is slow and considered, having been likened to the movements of a ballerina.
But what can she manage on rock? This short video shows Jain changing scenes and climbing outside on the rocks of Niederthai in Austria's Ötztal in-between World Cup rounds.
In reply to UKC News: Another video spoilt by annoying editing; with all the jumping around, drone fly bys and irritating slow motion bits, we'll just have to take your word for the slow and considered ballerina thing. A pity. What's wrong with just pointing a camera and letting the climbing speak for itself?
I agree. Slightly short sighted self indulgent film making. Speaks more about the film makers than the subject. But then that describes most of the 'new', digital age, army of film makers. They could have just shown another move or two between cuts.
Agree with others, Jain is a graceful and powerful climber but this video was spoilt by all the cuts. Nothing wrong with pans, wide shots and drone flybys but they should be used sparingly. Not a climbers video, more commercial and corporate/self-promotion which isn't a surprise really considering who funded the shoot.

I tend to agree about all the chopping about - seems like they make them for people with very short attention spans. I did quite like this video though for other reasons, beautifully shot.
If you want to Kim climbing continuously check out some of the IFSC world cups on Youtube. She's usually near the end of the female bit - best go last in the finals. Brilliant and inspiring climbing.
If only people would primarily use drones for getting in to good camera positions for the action and hovering there rather than whizzing around all the time so that the drone becomes the action.
