The battery in the above laptop is starting to act oddly which isn't surprising as its from 2011. Son has been using it plugged in but I'm guessing as the system profiler is saying "Condition: Service Battery" its time to replace it.

Anyone have any experience of replacing an inbuilt MacBook Pro battery in terms of time to do and cost? Its had a pretty hard life.
Thanks

Hi

I recently bought a replacement battery for my 13"macbook
but yours is more complicated and might not be so easy check here, but it is likely to be "non-user renewable"

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/macbook-pro-unibody-faq/m...
or on the apple website

Doubt you can but IF you can swap it out I got a Lavolta equivilent battery rather than a mac one as it was much cheaper and it performs fine - except one thing I don't get a battery low on screen warning before it shuts down on low power.
got it from smart parts sw19 via ee bay

or apple will do it for you for £139inc vat

cheers

Mine's been saying that for around 6 months. Its a 2011 13" macbook pro. Still get 4hrs charge from it. Only problem is sometimes when the battery is low it seems to think it has more change that it actually does. So might not cause too many problems if left a bit longer.
