Mr Buckley, of Dobcross, said it was his "responsibility" to continue serving his constituents.

Especially the children!!

Fans of The Who will be grateful that you don't have much say in these affairs.

He should be sacked....there is a poor and inappropriate view somehow that people who have been elected cannot be sacked and there needs to be better governance around this.
People who are in to child porn don't ever seem to acknowledge the abuse, coercion and often violence involved in its production or the lifelong effects it has on the children involved.
It's a further worry that he can walk around as if he's been convicted for speeding....it shows either narcissistic or grandiose traits with a sense of entitlement.

As an aside it isn't child "porn" it's indecent images of children/images of child sexual abuse.

What a bizarre curfew restriction - effectively "stay indoors during work hours, but carry on as usual afterwards"

I was shocked that he would want maintain a public position and not just diapear and hope the work orgot about him. Surly he will be a target at every public meeting, vote and proposal.

I would have thought his responsibility would be a public apology and condemnation for his actions and to just diapear.

Surely it must be 16:00 -08:00 otherwise it makes no sense, unless it has something to do with school hours ?

I would refuse to have any meetings or even be in the same room as him, hopefully his colleagues feel the same, imagine the welcome he ll get at any public events, I don't think it'll be pretty.
In reply to Wsdconst:
it could be to help him to cray on counseling, the thing is its a 28 day witch is not a lot by any' stretch'

the local paper reports it consistently as day time ;;

Mike Buckley 68, was told by Judge Jonathan Foster QC, that for a man who had previously lived an exemplary and upstanding life, the loss of his good name was punishment enough.

He said, however, that the public were entitled to see that such offending was met with harsh sentencing by the courts.

Buckley, from Dobcross, has been ordered to take part in the Internet Sexual Offenders Treatment Programme which involves 35 two-hour sessions with extra work in between.

He will be subject to supervision by the Probation Service for two years and subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.

In addition he will be on a strict 28-day curfew between 8am and 4pm starting next week, and he has been ordered to pay £2,000 prosecution costs.

Would need to know the context and what these 'indecent' images were as the term "child porn" is rather loaded as above comments prove.

It sadly doesn't come as any surprise to me in the current political climate. In the light of (as I understand it) our current PM having burned money in front of homeless people as entry to the Bullingdon club and his 'alleged' dead pig antics with absolutely no consequences, why should the same not apply to other politicians? Perhaps we are all in it together! I know, Cameron has been convicted so it is different, but the acceptance of the behaviour by the perpetrators seems to be the same. Dignity and respect where it's due, and not where it really has no place.
