Johnson / Trump

I am perfectly aware that there is possibly something like a 70 point IQ gap between the two. I actually enjoy some of B. Johnson's journalism.

But, in the real world, I find it so hard to credit the success of Donald Trump in the US. And I have suddenly realised that 'Boris' is our very own 'Trump'. Guess it was inevitable that he would oppose Dave C. over Europe.

I think you'd probably find that they both have well above average IQs which they use rather effectively to appeal to voters on a populist basis, but that doesn't mean either of them are remotely fit for the serious responsibilities of high office.

I'm slightly less worried by Boris than by Trump though, partly because I think it's just possible that Boris's buffoonery is a sham and he could grow into a serious politician, and partly because as UK PM he would not be in a position to do as much damage as Trump as US President. The latter prospect is truly alarming.
