I couldn't tell from the information given out. It certainly has an altimeter.

Very confusing website they have there. I'd have thought if it was GPS enabled they would have put it in there somewhere. Looking through the pretty pictures I found: "Convenient Preset Apps for Trekking" which highlighted the viewranger app and "Everybody's outdoor adventure companion providing route information, navigation guidance, altitude graphs, location data and distance to next waypoint all at a glance."

At the bottom was a disclaimer about "limited functionality with iOS", which makes me think it's reliant on being paired with a phone for navigation, although I could be wrong.

Ah yes I wonder if you are correct. I was thinking that the watch itself would triangulate between mobile phone masts.

I guess being described as a Smart Watch suggests its main purpose is as a display, although having the dual layer displays is clever.
