Off to NY in April and thought a USA tick would look good in my log book. Question is (and i know it will be bouldering not routing) is where to climb to get a easy tick. Not bothered about the quality just want to stroll up send half an hour and grab a few ticks. Cheer for any replys.

Google "Rat Rock Central Park". we were having a wander through the park 25 years ago and happened upon it, having had no idea there was climbing anywhere around there. Locals lent us shoes and advice and we had a dabble.

Central Park all the routes from the NY bouldering guide are listed here, though you'll probably need book to identify them. The Mid Town end of the park is great for a few quick ticks - Cat Rock, Chess Rock, Rat Rock all have good easy problems.

Central Park is easy to find and has big range of routes to tick. V polished in places, but good fun

Rat Rock is the place for a quick tick. It's just off of Central Park South, a five minute walk from Columbus Circle.

I also recommend Rat Rock. In fact I went bouldering there this Saturday just gone while visiting NY. There are some decent problems from V0 upwards and the landings are good so you don't really need a pad. Maybe take a beer towel/square of carpet though as the landings could be muddy. There are some nice traverses on the north face and a good V2 flake problem on the east face along with the classic V5 "Test Piece". This boulder also has the added bonus that you can get great pictures of the skyline as a backdrop of you bouldering. All the info you need is here:
