Am I to be chastised for listening to Classic FM?

Over the last few days, I have been listening to Classic FM's Hall of Fame.
Is that sad?
(For those who do not know, it is a list of favourite classical pieces of music, as voted for by listeners)

I could not climb as I was working for part of the time, although I went to the Northampton Wall yesterday afternoon.

NO!

This thread should be moved to the culture bunker (In my humble opinion!).

My vote will always go for the 4 seasons, Vivaldi - for popular stuff.

I thought that the culture bunker would only accept Radio 3 and not Classic FM.

Note to moderators. I am happy for it to be moved.

No, I rate their evening/night time shows

In reply to WildCamper:

Yes they seem less commercial in an evening.Less adverts and longer pieces.

Just playing Beethoven's 5th piano concerto.(Emperor) at number 5.It was my third choice.
I have listened since they started doing the Hall of Fame, but never voted before.
In reply to veteye:

Would be good to hear what is happening/happened. Internet connection keeps dropping out.

In reply to L'Eeyore:

All the top 5 at least are non-movers from last year. So Vaughan Williams Lark ascending is being played just now in the top spot.

Do you not have a normally moggy radio?
In reply to veteye:

It picks up radio 1 and sometimes 2 and Heart. Life is different in the wilds!

In reply to L'Eeyore:

Do you have reasonable TV?Sometimes the radio channels are not too bad on that.
Where are your wilds?
In reply to veteye:

Good idea, forgot about the TV - off to enjoy the rest of the evening. Thanks.

Deep valley in Exmoor area.

I hope that that worked.

Get a long cable up to the top of the hill and then attach a coat hanger!

Not at all! Good chance to listen to some of the greatest pieces played back to back rather than padded out as is the ace on the standard air time.
CFM's Saturday night at the movies was also cracking.

I have the occasional lapse. Normally the preponderance of saccharine, the DJ(?) or the ads kills it. Rarely it lasts more than a couple of hits, Pop pickers. Anyway thanks for that you've made me remember Ailish Tynan who was on the BBC when I was driving down to Aberystwyth the other day.

In reply to veteye:

Classic FM is useful when I've had enough of Radio 4 but IMO they play Vltava (Die Moldau) far too often!
