Does anyone know how a crag away up a glen in the east of Scotland came to have a Spanish name?
The only connection I can think of is something to do with Spanish soldiers in the Jacobite rebellion, after whom Sgurr nan Spainteach in Glen Shiel is named.
There was a hunting lodge, Bachnagairn, at the top of the glen (the remains of it are still visible), and the crag is said to have been named after a Spanish guest.
