I occasionally use my Nexus 7 tablet as a satnav using a TomTom Go app. However I have found that, despite having the tablet plugged into the car power supply with a 2 amp charger, after about 150-180 miles the tablet battery has lost all its power.
Investigation this morning showed that there were about half a dozen apps on the tablet which were running in the background, even though the apps were not being used.
Some of these apps have now been uninstalled(they were superfluous) and the rest I have "force stopped".
Anyone know if this will make any difference to the running of the satnav app?

A good point on the cable. Another problem with older ipads is that cars are 12V and they were 18V to charge so it wasn't too effective.
What apps did you turn off. Did you have a roaming SIM card in, and turned on? It increases speed of GPS updates and accuracy at the expense of the SIM bill. Power usage I don't know.
