Sorry to be a nuisance but I'm trying to organise my fitness regime. When I can't get into the hills I try to do a daily walk(on the level) of about 4 to 4.5 miles. Using one of these app things on my mobile phone suggests that I can do an average speed over that distance of about 3.3mph.

Would any fitness experts care to comment and/or advise? Is that a reasonable distance/speed for two or three days a week?

Very grateful for help and advice.

In reply to Chipmunk:

If you are 85 years old with an artificial hip I'd say that's pretty impressive.

Otherwise I'd say 3mph was average for a leisurely strolling pace and 4mph will feel more like a march.
