Just came across this in charity shop this morning - anyone else read it and is it any good ?

It's a bit of the all the others were fools apart from the subject school of writing.
Interesting but internally contradictory. A very interesting character who appears to have been better recognised by his contemporaries than the author allows but then neglected by climbing history.
Worth the read (but keep the haliography filters on)
Hope that helps

In reply to rogerwebb: Is that "hagiography"?

Yes sorry thought I had edited that
In reply to Allanfairfechan:

So far so good but guess the author is not a mountaineer as a couple of glaringly obvious errors (desceding to Breiul but stopping at Hornli hut !) but other than that really enjoying it.
Also I do beleive that Belmore Brown (on Denali) was the 'inventor' of Eiderdown clothing !
In reply to Allanfairfechan:

A great read, well worth it
