The dangerous blocks on Low Stern at Giggleswick South have now been removed...
Hi there Chris, hope you are on the mend after your ordeal here, as you can see above job done ...and it was pretty big.

Hi Nigel,
On the mend thanks but will be out of action for sometime. I don't need a shoulder operation on humerus joint as predicted, I just hope that there isn't any nerve or tendon damage. I have an appointment to see a spinal specialist next week and I think the outcome will be positive.
Many thanks for taking on the responsibility for sorting out the loose blocks left on Low Stern how big were they?
(I don't actually remember anything loose on the route when I did it!!!!)
Cheers again
Chris

Hi Nige,
Am going round to see Chris tomorrow, so to cheer him up can you do a bit of a "fishermans tale" and tell him they were the size of..........? so he can recount this now a for years to come. Also , he will be better and back out climbing sooner than he thinks...we will be the "krocks of Kalymnos" in October.
However, I have seen his helmet after the incident...with the rather deep dents in it!!!!..so if anyone is reading this a wondering about helmet wearing..just ask Chris!!!

Hi, don't have to 'fishermans tale' it!! the block left was telly size....old style telly that is!!
You could see how roots had grown down the back and loosened things...when I first climbed it I can't think that I must avoid that block. If I had I would have removed it years ago. I think it's called biological erosion?
Glad you are on the mend Chris, see you out on the crag soon.
