Climbed this yesterday. Great route. Anyway I couldn't find the ammonite thread belay - is is still there? I saw a scar at about belly button height roughly where the guidebook indicated the belay to be. I found a large ammonite on the break about 5m away from the chimney, which had some funny grooves on it (almost like rope grooves), but couldn't be threaded in any way.
Are there any other routes where I can use fossil ammonites as belay anchors or as climbing holds? I did not get my "ammonite fix" yet
Edit: just realized I could search for 'Ammonite' and find more routes with them on.
