Anyone following? A hoard of French in pursuit of a lone Brit down the S. Atlantic in one of the most extreme boats you ever saw. Every 4 years I get completely hooked...

It's amazing how foiling has now become almost mainstream. To be considered as acceptable for round the world single handers would have been seen as ridiculous a couple of years ago.

Yes, I've been watching Alex Thomson. He's bonkers. Try googling Mast Walk, Keel Walk, and I think the 3rd is Sky Walk.

Absolutely unbelievable that these guys keep this up for 24 hours a day for 3 months.

There's a much more involving tracker that somebody has mashed up at http://gis.ee/vg . You can wind the weather forward and really understand the tactical moves as they surf the weather systems in the southern ocean.

I'm sure there is some potential to do something similar for an outdoor activity site. The underlying windytv.com site seems to cover the whole world.
