been looking for a decent, simple already converted van; nowt flash, but good to go.
Defo not some shabby banger or an "ideal project".....

autotrader n pistonheads don't have a lot; (seems easy to find T5 conversions >£25k tho)
Is that just how it is or is there any good places to find these sort of things for sale?
where do home converters flog their old T4s?

any pointers for geed places to look would be appreciated.

What kind of price point are you looking at? I'm about to put my Renault Trafic converted van on the market.

Try the VWT4 forum.
Their classifieds include T4 and T5 vans.
But you won't find many cheap vans.
Plenty of nicely converted but expensive vans or cheap projects.
You need to move away from VW if you want a reasonably priced van.
It's reached the point where T4s are as expensive as early T5s.
I sold my home conversion T4, 1997, 140,000 miles last month for close to £4000.
And I thought I was asking a low price for a quick sale.
Good luck with your search.

cheers, i'll check out what the VW forums have
but it certainly seems that Transporters have an instant markup (for little apparent reason).

Sounds nice / sounds expensive...
Stick a vw badge on it and it'll be worth a bit more

I just go t a Mazda Bongo with a full side conversion. You get a lot more for your money than going the VW route although there's no denying they're a bit on the thirty side.

Bongo Fury is THE website for all things Bongo and has a Bongos for sale page...

Good luck finding a van whichever way you go.

I'm also looking for a van, probably purchase sometime early 2017 (when I will have somewhere to park it!). As I'm after something mainly for fishing trips, It won't be on any campsites and be able to access farm tracks, probably fairly basic needs - like lots of space for wet, smelly kit. Plus my wife sometimes.
I think your vans may be a little too posh for me, I'll probably purchase a decent Transit (or similar, swb and medium height) aiming to spend most on better mechanics and then a basic conversion - about all I'm capable of.
But I could change my mind many times between now and then and consider anything.

In reply to Phil Anderson:

bongos are just too wee for me - I'm far too tall and I nee to be able lie full stretch for a kip.

as a side note - I saw a subaru sambar drive past the other day; vw spilt-screen style - nearly fell over laughing
(I had to google it to find out what the dam thing was).......
