[Napes Needle - An Overnight Expedition]
Inspired by last year's Kendal Mountain Festival, Tom - aged 11 - decided he wanted to make a film about his love of climbing. Roping the rest of the family in to help, Tom had a great adventure and hopes others will enjoy watching the film as much as he enjoyed making it.

Brought back some good memories, a friend and I did this, this summer. Great fun! Managed to get Tophet Wall and a quick dip in the pool below Stockley Bridge too! Good memories!

Wow! I was dragged up things like that from the age of eight so I loved that film. My first ever climb and abseil was on the Gladstone Slab, followed by Idwal Slabs.

Watching this has brought back stressful memories of going up the pinnacle around the back, mistakenly believing it was the easy way... This upsets me greatly, haha.

Nice little video about an absolute gem of a climb though!

Loved it. Perhaps a fitting tribute to the inspiration provided by Ken Wilson, and to climbing dads (and mums, uncles, aunties, friends, scout leaders, etc) who give kids great experiences and memories.

I went there with my wife years ago and bivied at the foot before climbing it in the morning. There was the gnarliest sheep I've ever seen in the gully while we climbed.

Thanks for posting

To be fair that was much more fun than the vast majority of professional films I've watched. Top job.

And in a lighter vein, Caine's Arcade is charming:

Super. Made me smile which is more than the vast majority of climbing vids do.

A charming film

No grunting
No screaming
No bare chests
No staged struggles
No whooping
No hollering
No high fives
No crushing
No sending
No product placement
Just the joy of climbing

Well done guys, this is how it should be done

Chapeau

Thank you to everyone who has posted such lovely comments. We are all really pleased people like the film and have taken the time to tell us so. I'm sure there'll be another at some point in the future.
Thanks again Ben and Tom
