L Hunt02 Dec 2003
I'm in the process of building my own climbing wall, and was wondering whether anyone had any advice on making holds.
Is it true that you can make your own plastic holds, and if so how?
Do you need moulds and does anyone have any they want to sell?
Is it better to go out and buy holds?
If anyone has any answers, or just general advice I'd love to hear it.
In reply to L Hunt: Go skip diving for bits of old banister etc, or check out Wickes or the local timber merchant for off cuts. Handy if you know someone with a router and a load of sandpaper.
Pretty much made all the crimps and pinches I wanted from wood, but its worth shelling out for some good plastic slopers, these guys do some properly fat ones

And try a packet of the little screw on foot holds, nice
