Hi, I wondered if anyone on here can help with this, in a nut shell I've got a boat with a 4G router in which I've put an EE sim card, if the 4g is good then obviously the WIFI is good, however it's now somewhere where the WIFI is crap, my question is if I buy a booster will it improve the strength of the incoming signal and improve speed etc, or will it just boost the existing crap signal to distant parts of the boat ,

In reply to Clwyd Chris:

As you suspected, a WiFi will do nothing at all to boost the incoming 4G and hence your overall speed.

Are there any places on the boat you could mount a small pole? You can get remote antennae for routers (if they have an external aerial connection) which can help the 4G signal e.g. :https://www.broadbandbuyer.com/store/wifi-antennas/3g-4g-lte-antennas/

I've used them for 3G signals for data connections in small wind turbines (250kw small) and they're ok, but they don't work miracles.

Thanks, I suspected that was the case
