Currently access can only be gained with permission of the landowner, Patrick Walker via email. Mr Walker owns the farm land and buildings below the left hand side of the cliff and the left wing of the crag. Other landowners own the various parcels of land below Central Wall and the Right Wing and the majority of the cliff face and are happy for climbing to continue but so far, the only agreed access route from the road is via Mr Walker's Land.
Dates: 1 February to 31 July
Reason: Nesting Birds
The restriction applies to the whole crag for both peregrine and raven. The birds on this cliff are more sensitive to disturbance than at other sites such as Malham Cove.
Rockfax Description
A hard and serious undertaking up the left-hand side of the wall. Follow the right side of the depression to below the large tree in the main horizontal break, bold. Climb up to the tree and the groove above it to a ledge. Move up leftwards to a horizontal break - peg - before trending up rightwards to access a crack to finish. Lower-off. © Rockfax

βeta: It it's current state this looks very much E7. There is no fixed gear remaining. On the lower wall to the tree a ground fall is guaranteed on all the hard climbing. Whispers of an old peg and a long sling on the tree. A single well placed bolt may do the job of both these? Its a shame it's not so onsightable in it's current state and the climbing looks brilliant and the upper wall is reasonably well protected. | βeta? | |
